Merit High-Performance Molybdenum Disulfide Chisel Paste (500g)

Merit High-Performance Molybdenum Disulfide Chisel Paste (500g) 2026

Protect your hydraulic breaker’s most expensive wear parts with Merit Premium Chisel Paste, specifically formulated to meet the high-pressure and high-temperature requirements of Rammer hydraulic hammers. This 500-gram cartridge is designed for use with manual grease guns or integrated automatic lubrication systems like the Rammer RAMLUBE and Epiroc ContiLube™ II.

Unlike standard chassis grease, this specialized lubricant contains high concentrations of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2)and graphite, providing a solid protective film that stays in place even under extreme impact loads.

Why Use Specialized Chisel Paste Instead of Standard Grease?

Using standard multi-purpose grease in a hydraulic breaker is a leading cause of premature failure. Merit Chisel Paste offers:

1. Extreme Heat Resistance

During operation, the friction between the tool (chisel) and the bushings can generate temperatures exceeding 200°C. Standard grease will liquefy and run out of the breaker, leaving the metal surfaces dry. Our paste contains solid lubricants that remain effective up to 1100°C, preventing “cold welding” and seizing.

2. Superior Pressure Absorption

The MoS2 particles act like microscopic ball bearings, creating a physical barrier between the tool shank and the bushings. This prevents metal-to-metal contact during heavy side-loading, significantly extending the life of your Lower Bushing and Thrust Ring.

3. Water and Corrosion Resistance

Demolition often happens in wet or dusty environments. This paste is highly resistant to water washout and protects the precision-machined surfaces of your hammer’s front head from rust and corrosion during downtime.

Application Instructions

  • Manual Greasing: Grease the tool every 2 hours of continuous operation. Apply grease until it begins to emerge from the bottom bushing.
  • Important Rule: Always grease the breaker while it is standing vertically with down-pressure applied to the tool. This prevents grease from entering the space between the piston and the tool, which can cause hydraulic seals to fail.
  • Automatic Systems: This 500g cartridge fits standard auto-lube pumps. Regularly check the cartridge level to ensure your hammer never “runs dry.”
